The signs pictured on these pages represent signs I have made. They are drawn and carved "Free-Hand" onto "One Inch" (11/16) best of the best Clear Heart VG & FG Redwood---with router and knife. Given my experience, there is no other wood produced in commercial quantities in N. America that will outperform our redwood. Thicker "red" cedar (Thuja Plicata) boards don't even come close! ..HD urethane sign foam "boards"? Hmmm, ..um, given "ground zero", what happens when that stuff is bumped, scuffed or abused?
